The Board of the Los Angeles Chapter of NACUSA is proud to announce that we have received funding from the City of Culver City for a July 6 concert of LA Winds, conducted by Steve Piazza. This afternoon concert will take place at the Veterans Auditorium in Culver City and will be free and open to the public. The score call will be issued soon and we hope you will submit works for consideration.LA Winds is a large symphonic wind band and loves performing new music. The score call will include a preference for works no longer than 6 minutes.
We will also be asking for your financial support of this ambitious undertaking because we need to match the $3,500 grant. To submit you need to be a current paid member of the organization.
So, take out those pieces for wind symphony and dust them off or get busy writing something new and look for the official score call which will be sent out soon.
We plan to sell advertising space in the program booklet as one way of raising the funds we need for the event; perhaps you would consider taking an ad?
