Here is the schedule for the first month:
June 5, Jeannie Gayle Pool, who teaches music business at Chapman University, will take any and all questions related to music publishing and collecting royalties.
June 12, David Raiklen, independent composer, filmmaker, and NACUSA LA Chapter President, will talk about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Music
June 19, Deborah Kavasch, soprano, composer, and music faculty at CSU Stanislaus, will talk about her latest opera, Anabel, premiered in January, 2023 in Turlock, California by Opera Modesto (who also commissioned it!)
June 26, Francisco Castillo, composer and oboist, will talk about jazz composition and the oboe family.
If you would like to lead a conversation this summer as part of this series, please let us know what you’d like to talk about and when! We have a few slots, you can be located anywhere.
We will end the summer with an evening where everyone will have a chance to play a recording or show us a video of a new composition while we relax.
Hope you will join us and please spread the word. These Conversations are open to everyone–not just NACUSA composers!
